Lyon County officers were staged on Iron Mountain Boulevard for most of the day Friday attempting to serve a California arrest warrant on a man, desribed as armed and dangerous, who was thought to live there.

When police eventually entered the home in the 7300 block of Iron Mountain Drive just before 5 p.m., it was vacant.

The scene indicated to officers that the occupants had "packed up quickly and left" long before police attempted to contact them, said Undersheriff Joe Sanford.
