Saint Mary's put on a 3-point shooting display that Carson High had probably never seen before.

Saint Mary's, of Ontario, Canada, made 15 3-point field goals en route to a 54-38 win over the Senators in a loser's bracket game at the St. Andrews Invitational, in Boca Raton, Fla., on Saturday.

Carson will take today off and return to action Monday at 7:15 a.m. against Western Prep High School of Davie, Fla. Carson will return home on Tuesday.

All but nine of the points Saint Mary's scored were on 3-pointers.

Saint Mary's grabbed a 35-23 first-half lead and was able to build on it the second half, as Carson scored only 15 points in the final two quarters.

"It was just a barrage," Carson coach Bruce Barnes said. "They were good at it (3-pointers). I think they hit 70 percent. The night before they didn't shoot it as well. They would just penetrate and kick. They forced you to help (inside) and when you did they would kick it out to the perimeter. We manned up on them, but they are very well schooled.

"The first half we got some good looks, but didn't make a lot of shots. When we were able to get the ball inside we got some shots swatted by their 6-foot-8 center."

Carson fell to 5-3 on the season.Paul Cagle III led Carson with 10 points, while Kalvin Case added six.
