Gerald Eugene Jose, 65, a Carson City resident since 1978, passed away Dec. 22, 2008 at his home.
He was born Nov. 21, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo.
After graduating from high school in Kansas City, he enlisted in the Marine Corp and served in Vietnam, later he joined the Army Reserve. He married Marsha Swiney on Dec. 25, 1989, in Carson City. Gerald attended Western Nevada Community College and Truckee Meadow College. He was a member of the Carson City First Presbyterian Church. Gerald retired in 2007 after 28 years as a Correctional Officer for the State of Nevada, serving in Nevada State Prison and the Northern Nevada Correction Center. He devoted his life to his devoted wife, Marsha.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha; two stepsons Charles Jorgensen of Alabama and Bryan Jorgensen of Tonopah; eight step-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Monday at the Carson City First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Clovis Cemetery in Cloves, Calif. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Greater Nevada Credit Union Account 895442.
