Morrie E. Meaney, 58, a Carson City resident since 1976, passed away Dec. 23, 2008 in Carson City.
Morrie was a Vietnam veteran with many medals including a Purple Heart. He graduated from University of Nevada Reno with a degree in business administration in 1979. Morrie was a longtime bartender at Cactus Jacks casino. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping watching sports, visiting friends in Hawaii, and going to the movies with his daughter.
Morrie found joy in life through helping others. He was the life of all parties and easily found happiness and humor in all he did. He was a best friend to many and will be missed by all who knew him. Morrie was also a best friend and spiritual teacher, and the best Dad ever to his daughter Desiree Elizabeth Meaney.
