Carson City and Douglas County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of white GMC Suburban going over a snow berm one mile east of the summit on Highway 50 at 2:09 p.m.
According to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper John Jessee, the car thought the area was pullout and came in too quickly, hitting a patch of ice and going over the berm.
The driver, identified as Anna Delgado, of California, and the five passengers in the vehicle were not injured. The car received only minor damage and was towed out of the berm Saturday afternoon.
"I'm happy, they're happy, everyone's OK. They got out with just a scratch (on the car)," Jessee said. "Even though the snow's melted, it can still freeze pretty quickly and create black ice.
"Even on sunny days, drivers need to be cautious."
