Carson City

Kindergarten registration begins next month

Kindergarten registration for the Carson City School District begins the week of March 3.

• A birth certificate and immunization record, including Hepatitis vaccination, must be submitted at the time of registration.

• A child who is 5 years of age on or before Sept. 30 may be admitted to kindergarten.

• Proof of residency (power bill, gas bill, water bill, voter registration, etc.) in Carson City School District is required at the time of registration.

Airstream Owners Club to host luncheon

The Sierra Nevada Unit of the WBCCI Airstream Owners Club will host a member luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, El Charro Avitia, 4389 S. Carson St.

Met to televise 'Manon Lescuat' at area movie theaters

Tahoe Meadows

Free event Saturday focuses on trekking Tahoe Meadows

A free trek of Tahoe Meadows will be offered by the U.S. Forest Service 10 a.m. Saturday. Meet at the west end of Tahoe Meadows on the south side of the Mt. Rose Highway (NV431).

Each guided snowshoe/ski trek travels to a scenic overlook of Lake Tahoe last about 2-3 hours.
