Missing snowboarder found safe near Diamond Peak

INCLINE VILLAGE " A missing snowboarder was found safe last night in an abandoned cabin near Diamond Peak.

The 35-year-old man was reported missing around 3 p.m. Sunday at the ski resort in Incline Village.

Washoe County search and rescue crews found him eight hours later in an old cabin located in a drainage near the resort.

Authorities say he plowed through chest-high snow and was in good condition.

He built a fire to dry his clothes and get warm.
