Paul R. "Doc" Zimmerman '78' passed away December 30, 2007, surrounded by his

Doc was born October 3, 1929 in Hannibal, Mo., to Elmer and Nell Zimmerman. Doc married his high school sweetheart, Cherie Lee Carey on May 28, 1948 in Hannibal, Mo. and served his country in the United States Marine Corp. They relocated their family to Carson City in 1970.

Doc was preceded in death by his three sons Richard, Michael and Kurt.

Doc was a Salesman Extraordinaire, he enjoyed his large family and friends, a good book, cooking, traveling, camping, playing Lotto, taking scenic drives, and Bubby his cat.

Doc will be dearly missed by his wife of 59 1/2 years; his children, Elizabeth and her husband Jerry LeMay, Paul, Jenny and her husband Daniel Winters, Eric, Heidi, Angela Christian, Sally Abbott and her husband David Abbott; his grandchildren: Gretchen and her husband Brad Nishitani, Corey, Joshua and his wife Nelly, Jessica, Jacob, Kristi, Austin, Anna, Sarah, Audrey, Daniel, Andrew, Justin, Vicki and Payton; his great-grandchildren, Billy, Madeline, Tanner, Kaya, Sarah, and Kenzie. Doc will also be missed by his extended family as well as, a large circle of friends.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a celebration of Doc's life at Eagles FOE Hall, 1380 E. 5th Street, Carson City on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 1 p.m. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is caring for the arrangements.
