William 'Bill' Colonna, 45, went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2007. Bill was born February 6, 1962, to Nicholas and Barbara Colonna in New York City.
Bill had previously lived in New York and Florida moving to Nevada at the age of 15. He graduated from Wooster High School, and had worked as a disc jockey in Louisiana, Georgia and in Reno for K-Bull. During his short lifetime, Bill was awarded an "Addie" in radio broadcasting and earned a Bachelors Degree in ministry. Bill was best known as Chaplain to the Carson City Sheriff's Office. Since 2000, he became the deputies Pastor. He was always available for them. He touched those that needed counseling either in the department or civilians he met in the line of duty. Bill loved the Lord and the Lord used him to touch people. He will be sorely missed. Bill's favorite thing to do besides minister, was to sit outside and smoke a cigar and play cribbage.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Colonna. He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 15 1/2 years Shelly Colonna, his son Dominick, father Nicholas, brothers Edward and Nicholas all of Washoe Valley, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Bill will be missed by many.
