Winnemucca District Judge John Iroz withdrew his candidacy Friday for re-election in the Sixth Judicial District.

Iroz has one year to go in his first term as a District Judge. He filed earlier in the week for a second six-year term in the district that includes Humboldt, Pershing and Lander counties.

Winnemucca lawyer Bob Dolan filed for the Department 2 seat Iroz holds on Thursday.

Iroz gave no reason in the letter to the Secretary of State withdrawing from the contest.

In addition, Judge John Davis filed for re-election in the Fifth Judicial District representing Mineral, Esmeralda and Nye counties. If re-elected it will be his third term in the position.

Also in the Fifth District, Marla Zlotek filed for the Department 1 seat held by Richard Wagner, who has already filed for re-election.
