The Dayton High boys basketball team was able to come back in the fourth quarter for a thrilling 55-52 win at Fernley on Tuesday to stay unbeaten in the Northern 3A.
Fernley outscored Dayton 17-10 in the third quarter to take a 38-35 lead, but the Dust Devils outscored the Vaqueros 22-12 in the fourth quarter to pull out the win. Jelaney Perkins played a key role in the comeback, scoring six of his eight points in the fourth quarter.
Dayton was also able to make its free throws down the stretch to secure the win. Hans Meyer scored 18 points and Jerrin Foster added 15 points for the Dust Devils (11-4, 4-0).
