Little League sign-ups to start today


Carson City Little League will hold sign-ups 8:30 a.m.- noon today and Feb. 2 at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. Williams St. All kids ages 5-12 must bring proof of residency and a birth certificate to register. The cost for one child is $60 and $90 for a family. 4-H seeks donations of rummage items and clean fabrics


The Carson City Storey County 4-H Council is seeking gently used rummage items and clean fabric for donation, which can be dropped off between 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. today and Feb. 2 and 8, at the Fuji Park Exhibition Hall parking lot. All proceeds support the Carson City/Storey County 4-H Council Education Scholarship Program. For information, call 887-2252.

Piper's presents 'A Portrait of Patsy Cline'


Joni Morris will perform the hits of Patsy Cline in a tribute concert at Piper's Opera House, 12 North B St., Virginia City at 7:30 p.m. today.


Backed by her After Midnight band, Morris takes the audience back to Cline's heyday in the '50s and '60s, with "Crazy," "I Fall to Pieces" and "Walkin' After Midnight."
