Eddie Lee Cipriani Sr., a well known Carson City barber for more than 35 years, died here on Jan. 22, 2008 after a long illness. He will be remembered at a memorial service at St. Theresa's Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. next Tuesday, Jan. 29.
Born in Reno on April 5, 1943, to Naomi and Dino Cipriani, Eddie was preceded in death by brother Gino Cipriani and son Eddie, Jr. and parents. Is survived by his wife of 23 years, Maria, and son Stacey Peck. Survivors also include stepchildren Eddie, Stephanie, Floyd and Felipe Fuentes, Deanna & Art Duplessis, and grandsons Joe & Nick Fontanez and Phillip and numerous grandsons and 2 great-grandchildren.
A barber/stylist in Northern Nevada for 43 years, Eddie was appointed to the Barber Board of Nevada by Gov. Mike O'Callaghan in the early 1970s, and served three terms. He was a master hair stylist and won several regional awards during his long barbering career; he also enjoyed motorcycle racing, fishing and Italian cooking. Eddie loved to swap jokes with fellow barbers and longtime customers, all of whom are invited to the Memorial Service at St. Theresa's on Tuesday the 29th. Arrangements are in the care of Capital Cremations.
