Our Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather Jim passed away from our lives, Sunday, June 29, 2008.

Jim lived his life as fully as he could and was an inspiration to us all to go "grab life and live every moment to its fullest".

Growing up in Erwin, Pennsylvania, a coal miner's son to James and Elizabeth. Later moving to New York City where he met the love of his life and lifelong partner Julia who were married 63 years. Jim joined the Army in 1941 serving in all European Theatre Battles of World War II. Earning many accolades and medals including the Bronze Star and the Soldier's medal when our hero saved 9 lives when he jumped off a collapsing bridge over turbulent waters. Captured on tape many of Jim's acts of heroism are still played on the history channel. Jim returned home marrying Julia and they moved West to begin their family and continue a legacy of strength, leadership, honor and love.

Survivors include his beloved wife Julia; sons John of Genoa, James Jr. of Reno and Daniel Sr. of Carson City and his daughters-in-law Sandra, Deanna and Debra; grandsons James III, Jeffrey and Daniel Jr., all of Sparks and granddaughters Jenelle of Hawaii and Christene of San Diego and grand daughters-in-law Jessica and Sara.

Jim's crowning glory is that he was able to hold and enjoy his two baby great-grandsons Dominic and Tyson of Sparks.

We would like to thank Jim's entire extended family and friends for the support his entire life and especially to the outstanding staff and attendants from Evergreen Rehab Center on Ormsby Boulevard in Carson City. Your kindness, respect and genuine dedication to Dad these past months are truly appreciated and will be forever in our hearts.
