LAS VEGAS " Police say a naked man was arrested after stealing a beer and hijacking a transit bus several miles northeast of the Las Vegas Strip.

A Las Vegas police spokesman says 35-year-old Charles P. Sell fled when an officer arrived to a report of a shoplifter at a convenience store about 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Sell allegedly punched in a back window of a Citizens Area Transit bus, climbed aboard, forced the driver off, and drove the bus about 200 yards before jumping off the moving vehicle.

An officer climbed aboard and stopped the bus.

Police say Sell was arrested, given clothes and a mental evaluation, and taken to the Clark County jail.

He's being held Wednesday on $14,000 bail pending a court appearance on felony charges of robbery, grand larceny and malicious destruction of private property.
