CAROLINA, Puerto Rico (AP) " A judge has dropped drug and weapons charges against Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Don Omar.
Prosecutors have asked that the case be dismissed because of conflicting testimony from two police officers. The nearly two-week trial ended on Tuesday.
Don Omar was arrested in September 2004 after authorities said they found the singer inside his Hummer with a gun, a small bag of marijuana and $1,200 in cash.
He could have faced up to 10 years in prison if found guilty.
Don Omar is one of reggaeton's biggest stars. He won a 2007 Billboard Latin Music Award for his album, "King of Kings."
