The Carson City Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) will hold its first-ever fund raiser at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 2 at the Capitol City Gun Club, which is located at 3590 Arrowhead drive In Carson City.
The evening will be filled with games, prize give-away, raffles and live and silent auctions.
This banquet differs from many of the other wildlife conservation banquets in that kids are encouraged to attend. The NWTF has a very active JAKES Program (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship) with its own magazine and activities.
And the banquet offers special give-away and raffles just for JAKES (ages through 17 years).
The National Wild Turkey Federation is a national, nonprofit, educational conservation organization comprised of state and local affiliates working for the restoration and wise management of the American wild turkey and other valuable natural resources.
The Federation has been aggressively translocating turkeys throughout Nevada, over 900 since 2003.
