With the recent resignation of Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Governing Board member Coe Swobe, the agency had to find someone to fill his seat until his term is up in five months.

Roy "R.J." Clason of Zephyr Cove took the position.

"I think it's important to have as much community involvement in the Basin as possible," Clason said.

Clason said his background is in public safety and health, working as director of policy for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), sitting on multiple hospital boards, and working with the American Red Cross.

Clason said he isn't sure if he will vie for the seat once he serves out the remainder of Swobe's term.
