7 injured when large tree limb falls in Lovelock

LOVELOCK " Authorities say seven people were injured in Lovelock when a large tree limb fell in a park during the Frontier Days festival.

Police Chief Michael Mancebo describes the limb as roughly 48-feet long and 40 inches in diameter.

It fell without warning Sunday afternoon on people gathered at the courthouse park before the start of an arm wrestling contest, which was canceled after the accident.

Authorities say the injured were taken by ambulance to Pershing General Hospital and three were flown to a hospital in Reno.

Lovelock is 90 miles east of Reno on Interstate 80.
