LAS VEGAS " The Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners is postponing a Sept. 8 disciplinary hearing for Dr. Dipak Desai, the physician who surrendered his license after clinics he headed were blamed in a southern Nevada hepatitis outbreak.
Board executive director Tony Clark said Wednesday that Desai's attorneys provided medical records to a board physician showing Desai is unable to participate in his defense.
Clark says the 58-year-old Desai became ill in California and was treated in intensive care at UCLA Medical Center before his family brought him home to Las Vegas.
Desai's lawyers in Las Vegas won't comment on his condition.
Clark says a status check will be held on Desai's case in late September.
