The Carson City Board of Supervisors will meet Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Sierra Room of the Community Center, 851 E. William St. A copy of the agenda is at www.carson-city.nv.us. Go to the Board of Supervisors link under the City Government tab.
On the agenda:
- The board should expand its regulatory powers over liquor license holders, according to a city staff plan. This would allow the board to fine a business, rather than just the person who sells alcohol to minors, and let the sheriff's department suspend liquor licenses in some circumstances.
- Doppelgangers Bar and Grill should get $100,000 in redevelopment money to help renovate its building at 302 N. Carson St., according to the city business office. The money would come from the redevelopment budget, which is funded by business property taxes in the redevelopment area.
- Supervisor Robin Williamson wants to set regularly scheduled night meetings. Board meetings are now every other week and divided between morning and night on a trial period. They have been only in the mornings until recently.
- City staff want the board to hold a disciplinary hearing for the Laundry Lounge, 1300 E. Fifth St., for serving alcohol to minors.
