Carson City Music Club meeting today


Carson City Music Club meet 7 p.m., tonight, Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King St. Violinist Michael Lesmes, a graduate of Carson High School and student of Danny Yale, will play Bartok, and a Saint-Saens concerto, plus other pieces, accompanied by Jane Theiss on piano. 'Earth Friendly Art' at museum


The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada and Crafty Lessons by Melodie host "Earth Friendly Art," 1-3 p.m. Tuesdays, June 17-July 8. Class size is limited to 18 students. Learn about the conservation and preservation of the Earth through the construction of Earth Friendly Projects. Cost is $45 for Children Museum Members and $55 for non-members. 'The Texture and Weave of Traditional Art' on display


The Nevada Arts Council presents "The Texture and Weave of Traditional Art," 8 a.m.-5 p.m., through July 27 in the OXS Gallery, Nevada Arts Council, 716 N. Carson St, Suite A. The exhibit includes examples of Ukrainian decorated eggs, Peruvian embroidered textile, Pauite, Washoe and Shoshone water jugs, beaded and willow baskets, rawhide and horsehair equine gear, and silver and gold jewelry with classic Western images.
