All sorts: Evan Williams received a dispatch from Senator Stewart yesterday that he had secured rooms for the Nevada delegates, at the Sherman House. This is Chicago's boss hotel and means that Nevada will have all the style that is lying around loose.


100 Years Ago


According to the Sacramento Union, an intention of a local resident, Joseph Barker, who is associated with Wils Brougher in the enterprise have had great success from the invention of a windmill. Fully protected by patents and awaiting the final improvements before it is placed on the market, the new style of windmill which has been attracting the attention of the residents of Oak Park. The strongest point in favor of the new invention is the fact that when completed the windmill will cost only about $250 and be capable of developing forty horsepower and forty gallons of water a minute. There is no question that Barker and Brougher have their fortunes made.

A 1944 four-engine bomber plane is staying in Carson City for a while. It was headed for Salt Lake City, but returned minutes after losing its No. 4 engine. "We love it here so well, we decided to come back," joked pilot Herb Webber.
