Hunters who are going or not going big game hunting this fall

Yahoo! It's now official. Systems Consultants, the private computer firm in Fallon that conducts the annual computerized drawings for Nevada's big game hunting tags, has posted the results at www.huntnevada.com for all the world to see.

There were a whole bunch of winners and even a lot more losers in this year's drawings.

As I have done before, I thought that it might be interesting to randomly select some of the folks who are going and who are not going hunting later this year.

It's public information, so what the heck, let's have some fun.

If your name is listed, it's the result of my own personal random selection. And, if your name is not listed, it is also the result of my random selection.

So, here's one lucky 2008 big game hunter for each letter of the alphabet from "A" to "Z."

How did I do:

Don Q was successful in drawing an antelope tag for area 015.

I was unsuccessful for: Antlered mule deer, Nelson bighorn sheep and California bighorn sheep.

Also in the list of the unsuccessful applicants was Bob "Slick" McCulloch of Carson City, who, with Norm Budden, loves to torment and tease me, constantly.

As I laughingly told him, he is being punished for always picking on me and being mean.

Ah, life is good when I are a winner and Slick is a loser.

Hmmm, come to think of it, I might offer to take him along as camp cook on my hunting trip, but if I do, he will have to refer to me as "Bwana Don." Right on!
