Damaged library books on display
The Carson City Library staff has compiled an interesting exhibit displaying some of the unfortunate items that "bit the dust."
Patrons who own up to the damage they've caused have been known to give some peculiar reasons for the mishaps. Some ingenious responses include: "We got a new puppy," the chewed book is about dog training; "I fell asleep in the bathtub," a sappy romance novel is now shriveled; "I took it to the beach," damaging sand particles fall from the pages.
The library is open Monday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday, noon-6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. For information, call 887-2244.
