Jerry Finley
A huge thank you and congratulations to Jerry Finley for being chosen as our July Volunteer of the month.
Jerry has lived in Fernley for 7 years. Prior to moving here he lived in Hillsboro, Ore. He has in his family his wonderful wife Rebecca (Jan), two daughters Pam and Debra, one son Larry, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Before retiring Jerry was an emergency response coordination manager and also retired from the U.S. Navy.
Jerry has been volunteering here at the Fernley Senior Center for about a year also as a volunteer he has worked with the American Legion and the Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In total he has volunteered for about seven years.
Here at the senior center Jerry helps out with bingo as a caller. He also works with the Christmas for Kids program through American Legion and helping other veterans as a Vice CDR for the Nevada American Legion.
Jerry volunteers because he says it helps make others lives a little better, and, "I enjoy making new friends."
He say's to volunteer because it makes you feel good inside and makes life more rewarding.
Thank you Jerry from all of us not only at the senior center, but all over Fernley. Your generosity touches many lives.
