Gov. Jim Gibbons has postponed a special session of the state Legislature until the end of next week.

Gibbons says he's delaying the session until next Friday to give legislators and state administrative staff more time to prepare because of the worsening forecast of the state deficit.

His announcement comes just hours after Economic Forum members raised the budget-savings target figure to about $200 million after taking gambling and state sales tax projections into account. He says the session will run through next weekend.
