Position: Manager of Juan's Mexican Grill

The restaurant: This is a second location for Juan's Kitchen, a restaurant which opened five years ago in Mo & Sluggo's. This new restaurant will have the same recipes, as well as seafood.

How he got involved: Juan worked in the corporate restaurant world for 13 years and moved to his father's restaurant about six months ago to help out.

What it's like working with his father: He said they're learning a lot from each other, but it's different than being a manager at a chain. "There, I make the decisions and that's it," he said. "Here, I have to go through my parents."

What's he's learned from his father: He said he's learned more ways to make the customer happy and still run a good business.

One challenge of running a restaurant now: Rising food prices.
