Police have opened up northbound traffic along U.S. 395 (Carson Street) following a two-vehicle accident that has left at least one person dead in South Carson City.
Police said that the accident around 9:30 a.m. today at Koontz Lane and South Carson Street involving a four-door sedan and a semi-truck without a trailer also caused about 100 gallons of gas to be spilled.
Police and hazardous materials professionals are at the accident.
Southbound traffic on South Carson Street/Highway 395 is being redirected west onto Moses Street and south onto Curry Street to avoid the accident site. Northbound traffic between Clearview and Fairview drives has been stopped.
