FORT LEWIS, Wash. " The Army has filed murder, burglary, kidnapping and obstruction-of-justice charges against a Fort Lewis soldier accused of killing two other soldiers at their home and kidnapping their baby.
Authorities allege Ivette Davila, a chemical operations specialist, shot and killed Sgt. Timothy Miller and his wife, Sgt. Randi Miller, at their home near Tacoma on Saturday night. Timothy Miller is a 1998 graduate of Douglas High School. He was posthumously promoted to staff sergeant.
Davila's accused of taking the couple's 6-month-old daughter to a home-improvement store, where investigators say she bought muriatic acid, which she poured on the bodies in an attempt to dispose of them.
If convicted of all charges, the 22-year-old from Bakersfield, Calif., faces up to life in prison.
