A Carson City man was jailed Wednesday for allegedly spanking his girlfriend's daughters with a spatula.
Cameron Jackson, 36, was booked into the Carson City Jail at 5:29 p.m. on suspicion of two felony counts of child abuse.
According to police reports, in October the girls' grandmother reported to police that her grandchildren had bruises on them from Jackson.
The woman's 7-year-old granddaughter told police that she saw Jackson use a black spatula to spank her 3-year-old and 4-year-old sisters for not cleaning their room. The 7-year-old said she escaped the spankings because she was doing homework.
According to the report, bruises on the girls' bodies were in the shape of a spatula. The girls' mother denied any abuse.
The case was submitted to the district attorney's office for review and on Feb. 29 a warrant was signed by a judge for Jackson's arrest.
A deputy spotted him jaywalking on Wednesday and when his name was run through police computers, the warrant turned up and he was arrested, according to the police report.
Jackson is being held on $25,000 bail.
