Rasner picks up win for the Yankees
Darrell Rasner picked up the win for the New York Yankees on Sunday in a 7-6 victory over the Cleveland Indians in spring training action.
Rasner (1-0), a 1999 Carson High graduate, allowed two runs on five hits while striking out two and walking one over the last three innings. In four appearances this spring, Rasner has allowed eight runs through 8.1 innings for an 8.64 earned run average.
Rasner is trying to make the opening day roster most likely as a long reliever/spot starter.
Bonilla reassigned by the Angels
Former Galena High pitcher Henry Bonilla was rassigned by the Los Angeles Angels to their minor league camp on Sunday.
This spring, Bonilla was 0-2 with a 9.00 earned run average in five appearances. He had one save while allowing seven runs on 13 hits in seven innings. He struck out one and walked three. It's likely that Bonilla will begin the year at the Angels Triple A affiliate, the Salt Lake Bees.
