Breast cancer fundraiser at Q's


Carson High School senior Tess Stacy will host a Breast Cancer Fundraiser 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at Q's BBQ Restaurant, 230 Fairview Drive. For information, call 224-0873.




New magazine for Boomers


Sierra Nevada Media Group, with offices in Carson City, has announced the launch of a new magazine, "Sierra Nevada Boomers." The 68-page magazine celebrates the active lifestyles of area Boomers.


The magazine is available at newsstands throughout the Reno/Tahoe/Carson area. For a list of locations, call 882-2111.




Democratic Women Adopt-a-Highway


Carson City Democratic Women's Club is working on a service project. Volunteers are needed to help clean up the southeast end of Carson Street.


This service project is part of the Adopt-a-Highway Program. Join the clean up crew at 8 a.m. Sunday at Carson Lanes parking lot, 4600 Snyder Ave. Water, orange vests and bags will be provided.

Cat and kitten adoption at Petco


Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation holds Cat and Kitten Adoption 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday at PetCo, 911 Topsy Lane. All ages of cats, spayed/neutered, most shots, some micro-chipped. Reasonable adoption fees. For information, call 267-2826.

Family Support hosts 'Puttin' on the Ritz'


The Family Support Council of Douglas County hosts "Puttin' on the Ritz", 6-10 p.m., Saturday, March 29, Genoa Lakes Golf Club.


Guests may bid on exclusive silent and live auctions items which include: romantic get-aways to places like Napa Valley and Yosemite; sports adventures for river rafters, fly casters and outdoor enthusiasts; and specialty events for children.
