According to the California Department of Fish and Game (DFG), the 2008 trout fishing season opens Saturday, April 5 on the Middle Fork of the Feather River in Plumas County.

The open stretch of that river is between the Union Pacific railroad bridge, just upstream of A-23 in Sierra Valley, and the Mohawk Bridge in Blairsden.

Other fishing opportunities are also available in the Plumas County area.

Lake Davis is open year-round to fishing and the Department of Fish and Game will be planting fish in the lake during a restocking celebration scheduled May 16-17 at Lake Davis.

The streams flowing into Lake Davis will not open until the Saturday prior to Memorial Day.

The trout limit is five per day and 10 in possession.
