Aldean files for re-election

Shelly Aldean, a broker and developer, filed for re-election today for a second full term as supervisor of Ward 2.

She was appointed as supervisor in 2003 after the death of Supervisor Jon Plank and elected in 2004. Supervisors can serve three four-year terms.

No one else has announced they will oppose Aldean or Ward 4 Supervisor Richard Staub, whose office is also up for election this year.

Candidates can file now through May 16 at the elections department of the clerk-recorder's office. The primary election is Aug. 12, and the general election is Nov. 4. All city offices are nonpartisan.
