I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the community-minded businesses and individuals, as well as our celebrated authors and poets, who helped make National Library Week at the Carson City Library a success. It was a crowd-pleasing event; commemorating the intrinsic value the public library brings to Carson City. Over 300 people enjoyed the week-long activities. Carson City Library adopted the theme for this year's event from the American Library Association's first annual National Library Week in 1958, "Wake Up & Read".
Thanks to the Friends of the Carson City Library, Carson City Library Foundation, Carson City Arts & Culture Coalition and corporate partner Galaxy Theatre, The Nevada Appeal, Sam Santillo and Carson Middle School staff, Masha Hamilton, Doris Daley, Caren Jenkins and Jenkins Law Office, Sandi Hoover and Carson Times, Benson's Feed & Tack, Reverend Ken Haskins, Barbara Perlman-Whyman, Sandy Foley, Carson City Downtown Consortium, Martin Jones, CPA, MBA, Phil & Phyllis Patton, Patrick Pittenger and Carson City Public Works, Joyce Harrington and Bliss Bungalow, Deana Hoover and Box Sled Publishing, Sue Ballew, Tom Jones and Carson City Florist, and Joe Baumeister and Sierra Ink, Inc.
Sincerely,
Sara Jones, director
