A fifth candidate has filed to run for a seat on the Lyon County Commission.
Gary Gladwill of Dayton has filed to represent District III, the seat now held by Don Tibbals.
Code Enforcement Officer Rick Zierenberg filed on Monday for the same seat, and incumbent Tibbals has said he plans to run for re-election.
For the commission's District I seat, now held by retiring Commissioner Bob Milz, former County Manager Donna Kristaponis and Planning Commissioner Chuck Roberts have filed. Fernley City Councilman Joe Mortenson has filed for the District IV seat held by retiring Commissioner LeRoy Goodman.
Other candidates filing are John Franks for the Silver Springs-Stagecoach Hospital District Board; Victoria Aviero for the Silver Springs-Stagecoach Hospital District Board; Ed Tremper for Stagecoach General Improvement District Board; Russell Best for the Stagecoach General Improvement District Board; Marty Hanna for the Fernley Swimming Pool General Improvement District trustee.
In Storey County, Commissioner Bob Kershaw, who represents the northern areas of Storey County and the Virginia City Highlands, filed for re-election Tuesday.
Also filing for Storey County School District Seat 1A is Cathylee James, a previous board member who left in 2006 to run for state Assembly District 38.
David G. Cockerton is running for Seat 2A on the Canyon General Improvement District, and Brad Bryant is running for Seat 2C on the same board.
