A Verdi man driving in excess of 100 mph on Geiger Grade was arrested last weekend, an official said Friday.
Kevin V. DePaoli, 53, was booked into the Storey County Jail on suspicion of reckless driving.
According to Storey Sheriff's Sgt. Ken Quirk, a deputy was patrolling State Route 341, commonly known as Geiger Grade, just before noon on May 11 when DePaoli allegedly sped past on a motorcycle. Quirk said the officer witnessed DePaoli pass four vehicles on a double-yellow line going 118 mph in a 45 mph zone.
DePaoli was stopped and arrested on the speeding charge.
"A records check indicated that DePaoli had been cited by the Storey County Sheriff's Office three times in the past four years for speeding and passing over the double yellow line," Quirk said.
