A NV Energy proposal that would have put a power line and 28 power poles along Saliman Road between Koontz Lane and Fairview Drive has been changed, following a meeting this morning in the Governor's office.
That development comes as good news to a group of residents along Saliman who had challenged the project, saying it blocked their views, decreased their home values and posed a potenial health threat.
The new plan, reached in a meeting set up by Carson City Mayor Marv Teixeira, will route the power line along the bypass being constructed in Carson City. Others attending the meeting included Supervisor Pete Livermore and representatives from the Department of Transportation and Nevada Energy.
Action is expected to be taken on the new plan at the city Supervisor's meeting on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Community Center.
