Reno-based Cal Storage Inc. has bought the 125,000-square-foot building at the corner of Roop Street and Mallory Way for $860,000.

The property was auctioned Nov. 18 to Los Angeles-based Thrifty Property Management & Investments for $900,000, but the sale fell through, said Bruce Robertson, an adviser with broker Sperry Van Ness Gold Dust Commercial Associates.

Mark Herrmann, who registered Cal Storage with the state Nov. 19, was the second highest bidder.

The building built in 1969 at 550 Mallory Way sits on six acres and is former home of Mr. Gasket and Mallory Electric.
