After a tough two-week stretch that saw the Douglas boys' soccer team lose four consecutive games to league rivals Wooster, Manogue, South Tahoe and Carson, the Tigers got well in a big way against Fallon Tuesday.

Douglas' Edgar Arceo scored three goals and assisted on two others to Ross Gardner as the Tigers took a 5-1 win over the Greenwave.

The first assist was the nicest goal of the set as Arceo took the ball deep down the right wing and sent a bouncing cross in front of the net. Gardner got in position and headed the ball in for the goal in the 20th minute.

Arceo had already scored two goals in the game at that point, including a nice shot over three defenders on a direct kick just outside the penalty box. He looped the ball just inside the far post for the goal.

In the 31st minute, Christian Salazar sent a long ball up to Arceo, who tracked it down and scored for a 4-1 lead heading into halftime.

The lone goal of the second half came in the 74th minute when Arceo sent a through ball to Gardner for a nice goal.

Douglas had exceptional play from Luke Prinz on the wing and had a strong defensive game from Brian Randall, Fabian Ramos, Keegan Rahe, Tyler Banofier and Jeff Crozier. Corbin Zumpft had seven saves in net for the Tigers.

Salazar was strong in the middle, as was Andrew Andraski, Edgar Gonzalez and Gavin Fitzhugh.

Douglas improved to 7-6-1 overall and 2-4-1 in league play with the win.
