Wayne A. Hanks, 41, was born August 2, 1967, in Boise, Idaho. He died Tuesday, September 30, 2008, in Carson City of diabetic complications.
He graduated from Carson High School in 1985. He had several craftsman type jobs before he moved to Alaska in 1996. He loved hunting, fishing, snow machining, 4-wheeling, skiing, working with his hands, and being outdoors.
Before becoming disabled, he worked in the oil fields on Alaska's Northern Slope. He was an Elder in the Carson River Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his 10-year-old son, Cole; parents, Doyle and Rhonda Hanks of Carson City; brother Cliff Hanks of Carnation, Wash.; sister, Peggy Lee of Rocklin, Calif.; grandmother, Vera Campbell, of Sandpoint, Idaho, and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the Cole Hanks Education fund at the Greater Nevada Credit Union.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Sunday at Autumn Funerals and Cremations. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 411 N. Saliman, Carson City. Burial will follow at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
