Corley Ranch festival weekends in October

The bees have done their pollinating and the pumpkins are nice and plump. The corn is 11-feet tall and the Wagon Wheel from Outer Space theme of the corn maze is done.

The Corley Ranch in Gardnerville is now waiting for visitors to master the corn maze and find the "Charlie Brown" pumpkin which is hidden in the maze plus answer the five questions that are hidden in the maze's crop circles to receive a prize.

Hours for the Saturday and Sunday Harvest Festival events every weekend in October are from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

On Saturday nights, the Night Crawler Maze will be open 7-9 p.m.

Among the events at the Corley Ranch Harvest festival are piglets races for cookies, a bouncy house, viewing of the farm animals, panning for gold, the kids straw maze, the big corn maze plus the food, crafters and entertainment.

Organically grown pumpkins, gourds, winter squash, watermelon, corn and other vegetables are for sale either in the field where or in the Country Store.

Also available for an extra fee will be two miniature horses to ride, a horse drawn hay ride, and a miniature train.

Visitors should bring a flashlight to tour the maze.

There is an entrance fee for the maze but the hot cocoa and a sweet roll are free.

There will be a haunted hay ride.
