Squally times on the Comstock Ð A young gentleman of Carson who was in Virginia City and who is something of a stock operator says the excitement was intense over that day's stock board. The wailing, came from margin buyers. Pale looking men stood around the brokers offices scarcely daring to look at the list, and almost doubting their own sense of seeing as the long list of reduced figures met their sight..and women with tear-filled eyes told over and over again the old, old story of their losses... contrasting what they were pecuniarily with what they might have been had they sold their stocks but a few days before.
