Open burn permits are available in Carson City beginning Oct. 25, according to the Carson City Fire Department.
"The purpose of the burn is to provide residents an opportunity to dispose of accumulated weeds and yard debris. In order to make this a safe endeavor for those involved, the City Fire Department will require a burn permit with a valid permit number before we allow burning," a news release states.
Permits can be obtained by visiting any of the city's fire stations at the following locations:
- Station 1 Headquarters, 777 S. Stewart St. 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
- Station 2, 2400 College Parkway 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
- Station 3, 4649 Snyder Ave., 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
The public is reminded that that personnel may not be available at Station 2 and Station 3 because they are subject to emergency response.
Permits can also be obtained from City Hall, 201 N. Carson St.
Permit numbers become valid after obtaining a permit number at least one day prior to burn.
