LAS VEGAS " Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons was sued in federal court on Tuesday by a woman who had claimed he assaulted her after they and others had drinks just before the November 2006 elections.

The lawsuit filed by Chrissy Mazzeo two years and a day after the alleged incident names Gibbons, longtime political operative Sig Rogich and Pennie Mossett-Puhek, who were with Gibbons and Mazzeo at a popular Las Vegas bar the night of the alleged incident.

Also named were former Las Vegas Metro Police Chief Bill Young, and Don Campbell, the attorney who represented Gibbons when the allegations were first raised.

The suit alleges, among other things, that the defendants conspired to obstruct justice in the case.
