RENO " Authorities have identified skeletal remains found more than two decades ago in Storey County as a 32-year-old Reno man.

Storey County sheriff's Lt. Kenneth Quirk says investigators believe Theodore "Ted" Allen was killed in 1982.

Bird hunters found his skeletal remains on Halloween two years later.

He was identified last week through DNA as part of an effort by the Storey County sheriff's office to reopen cold cases.

A cause of death is unknown, but investigators believe he was killed.

Quirk says Allen had worked at the Mustang Ranch brothel as a maintenance man, but was not employed there at the time of his death.
