NORTH LAS VEGAS " Prosecutors say they're not going to press criminal charges against the family of a 4-month-old girl mauled to death by her family's two pit bull dogs last month.

Clark County District Attorney David Roger said there was no way to prove family members were responsible for the Sept. 12 attack that killed Cenedi Kia Carey.

He says the dogs hadn't shown "significant" signs that they were dangerous, and authorities had not deemed them vicious.

North Las Vegas police say the girl's grandmother was caring for the child when the dogs entered the house from the back yard and attacked the child in a stroller.

Police say the grandmother suffered bites to the arms and hands trying to shield the child.

Police shot and killed the dogs, and found the child's body on the bedroom floor.
