CHS JV cross country takes fifth

The Carson High junior varsity boys cross country team had a strong showing at the Spanish Springs Invitational on Friday.

Along with junior varsity teams, the meet featured Northern 4A varsity teams that didn't qualify for zone. Whittell and Sierra Lutheran also competed in the meet.

Carson finished fifth overall out of 14 teams.

Whittell's varsity won the meet. Carson was the second-highest finishing JV team in the meet behind Galena.

For Carson, Josh Van Sickle finished 11th overall, finishing the 3.1 mile course in 3.1 miles and was followed by Andrew Richards (20:54), Noel Lopez (21:08), Ricardo Urgarte (21:46), Joe Ward (21:51), Victor Favero (22:30), Justice Kemp (23:09), Brandon O'Keefe (23:13), Jonathan Morales (23:26) and James Levins (24:12).

For Carson's JV girls, Ashley Salcedo (28:10) and Katie Ogburn (28:44) ran in the meet.
