Today an estimated 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease. It is the sixth leading cause of death in the United State. Every 71 seconds, someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk® is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research.
Held annually in hundreds of communities across the country, including Carson City and Reno, this inspiring event calls on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer's disease. This year The Capitol City Memory Walk will feature two routes. An approximately one-mile walk around the Capital building complex will be easy for anyone looking for a leisurely stroll.
For those up for a bit more of a challenge, there will be an approximately 2-mile course that winds along the blue trail through historic downtown Carson City. Come join the fun by yourself or with some friends and help raise some funds for finding a cure for Alzheimer's Disease.

Don't Forget: The Carson City Downtown Wine Walk
This event is on the first Saturday of each month and includes several downtown establishments. Pick up an ID bracelet and free wine glass, which allows you to sample away, at Carson Nugget, Cactus Jack's or D'Vine Wine and start walking.
